Composition

The CAC is made up of five members, from which a president and a vice president are elected. The members of the Council are elected by the Parliament of Catalonia by a two-thirds majority, at the proposal, at least, of three parliamentary groups. The President of the Council is elected by the Parliament of Catalonia, by a two-thirds majority, from among the members of the Council. The vice president of the Council is elected by the same Council from among their members.

The mandates are, in all cases, of six years, non-renewable. The members of the Council are subject to the system of incompatibilities of the senior officials of the Administration of the Generalitat of Catalonia. The Law prevents them from having direct or indirect interests in audiovisual, film, video, press, advertising, IT, telecommunications or the Internet.

On September 1, 2024, the vice president of the CAC, Rosa Maria Molló, who began her term in February 2022, resigned voluntarily, so that the Council is currently made up of four members, waiting for the Parliament to elect a new member.
