Minors in the media
Adolescents and children are part of society and, as such, must have an adequate presence in the audiovisual media. However, media professionals must act with special care when they appear in the media. In particular, audiovisual communication service providers cannot release the name, image or other information that will allow the identification of minors in cases where, with or without the consent of their parents or guardians, their honour, intimacy or image may be affected, and in a particular way if they appear or may appear as victims, witnesses or guilty in relation to the carrying out of illegal actions. Nor can the data regarding the affiliation of fostered or adopted children and adolescents be disclosed.
