She became a board member in July 2002, after a first term running from June 2000 to June 2002 in accordance with the transitional provision which governed the first two partial renewals. The Parliament of Catalonia elected her once again in 2002 for a new period of six years.

Biography

Barcelona, 1962

Graduate in Psychology. Master's degree in Public and Social Policy. She was executive director of the Catalan Institute for Women (1990-2000) and has been first vice-president of the Board of the Catalan National Women's Council since it was set up. She has worked with the Interdepartmental Commission for the Promotion of Women (1987-2000). Member of the Advisory Council for Spanish Television in Catalonia (1995-1996).

She has taken part in numerous congresses and seminars in Catalonia, Spain and abroad dealing with equality of opportunity between men and women. Of special importance in the communications field are the following: "Women in the Europe of the global information and telecommunications society"; "Women and the media"; and "How women are portrayed in the media".
