CAC Awards for research in audiovisual communication

Call for entries for the 38th edition of the CAC Awards.
The CAC, through Agreement 52/2026 approved on June 17, has launched the 38th edition of the CAC Awards for research in audiovisual communication, comprising two categories:
- Open Topic Award: entries may cover any subject related to audiovisual communication services—in the broadest sense of the concept—regardless of the medium (radio, television, cinema, internet), technology, or distribution platform.
- Award for the Specific Topic: submissions may include research analyzing the role of digital platforms and algorithmic systems in the configuration, distribution, and reception of communicative content, as well as their impact on the construction of contemporary social discourse. Studies may cover digital platforms, social media, content personalization and recommendation, communication dynamics, and digital creation, as well as the effects of these systems on public opinion, disinformation, inequalities, or institutional and media communication. Works must address these issues from a critical and analytical perspective, aiming to contribute to an understanding of the role of digital technologies in today´s society and their effects on communicative, cultural, and democratic processes.
Submissions may be prepared from the perspective of any discipline or field of knowledge, such as communication, law, economics, political science, or sociology, among others.
The prize money for each category is 3,500 euros (gross amount).
The deadline for submission is October 19, 2026.
